We’re thrilled to share that the State of Australian Startup Funding 2022 report is now live, featuring key insights, analysis and commentary on the trends and issues shaping our fundraising landscape.

Folklore and Cut Through Venture are proud to bring you the second annual report offering the most in-depth look at Aussie startup fundraising, with support from our mates at JP Morgan, Silicon Valley Bank, Deloitte, Google Cloud and Sling & Stone. 

Last year was a challenging year for startups globally and many in Australia, but we saw promising signals of more investment at the pre-seed and seed stages with an uptick in funding activity and importantly more investments into startups with at least one female founder. 

As a firm with over 90% of its first investments at seed stage, Folklore is super excited to be backing early-stage Aussie startups with our third fund, and to see both the progress we've made as an ecosystem and the level of support available to talented founders.

 We’d like to give a big thanks to the 88 Australian and international VC firms that shared their deal data with us, as well as the 500+ startup founders and investors who participated in our ecosystem survey. These insights allow us to chart our progress with firsthand insights into what’s happening in Australian startup funding – from the people on the ground.
