Hosting ambitious founders for the Visiting Entrepreneurs program
We recently hosted “From MVP to IPO: How to take your startup to the next level” as part of the City of Sydney’s Visiting Entrepreneur Program.
For the founders, operators and other ecosystem contributors who joined us, it was a chance to hear from Stephen Scheeler, the Founder and CEO of Omniscient Neurotechnology (and former CEO of Facebook ANZ), Lauren Sneddon, Head of Marketing at Lived, and Folklore Partner Alister Coleman, with moderation by Folklore’s Tanisha Banaszczyk.
Stephen, Lauren, and Alister shared real-world advice about starting a business, including the good, the bad, and the ugly. Topics covered included finding product-market fit, leveraging branding and marketing, scaling from 0 to 10 customers…and then to 100, hiring the right people for the right roles (and when to let go of people) and how to navigate international expansion.
The Visiting Entrepreneur Program is produced by the City of Sydney with partner organisations from the local startup ecosystem. Since launching in 2017, the program has presented more than 100 curated events for over 10,500 members of the local tech startup ecosystem with over 90 partner organisations.
